Meet The Trustees

Clare Doyle
Trustee

Clare lives in Manchester and comes from an Irish, Ghanaian and British family.  Reading, books and libraries have been a constant throughout her life – a way to discover the world around her, near and far, and to learn, develop and grow.  She is passionate about encouraging and supporting others to experience this, no matter age or circumstances, which is how she came to join the board of Manchester Libraries Trust, initially as an Associate Trustee and now as a Trustee.
Having originally done engineering at university, Clare worked for 20+ years in building services engineering, bid management, communication and business development roles in the property & construction sector.  Deciding on a change of direction in 2023, she currently splits her week between her work as a Primary School Tutor for a local charity and as an assistant to a Rehabilitation Case Manager in the healthcare sector.  Clare is also studying part-time for a Sociology degree with The Open University, and is a volunteer with reading charity Chapter One and local community group Friends of Chorlton Water Park.
